Multi-Company Capability
Multi-Company Capability (Mandantenfähigkeit)
Multi-company capability lets several legally separate companies or sites be managed within one shared system instance.
Multi-Company Capability: Not to be confused with
Multi-company capability is NOT the same as multi-tenancy in the cloud-technical sense. Multi-company capability concerns the business separation of several firms within the same ERP, technical multi-tenancy on a cloud platform concerns how many customers share the same software instance behind the scenes.
Multi-company capability means an ERP can represent several legal entities with separate bookkeeping but a shared master data foundation, for example for group structures, multiple sites or subsidiaries (Source 1 on the related technical concept of multitenancy). That allows consolidated reporting across all companies without manually merging data.
This matters for companies with several legal entities or branches, a look at the profile fields in the systems overview shows which systems support it.
